Hi everyone,

TegoMassu talks about waiting - where they'll wait for people, what they would say to their gfs if they were kept waiting, their excuses for making others wait and what they're waiting for this summer!  Beneath Massu's angelic smile, he has got quite a devious side really!  And according to them, if you'd like to do some TegoMassu spotting this summer, you'll have to wait outside Shibuya train station or go to Shirahama. (^^)

Many thanks to inala for the mag scans!

“Where do you usually arrange to meet up with someone?”
Massu: I’d arrange to meet in front of the train station. Or in front of Hachiko etc.
Tegoshi:  (you’re) just like a student! (laughs) I will choose somewhere that I can spend some time at, such as a café or something. After all, waiting in front of the station can be mentally draining.
Massu: Is that so? I quite often wait in front of the train station. Recently, I’ve been waiting in front of the gates too.
Tegoshi: Seriously?!
Massu: Yeaps. I thought since I was the first to arrive, I might as well wait in front of the gates for my friends. And since that station only had one exit, they would definitely be coming out from here. However, I waited for a while and no one came. Then suddenly, someone tapped my back and it turned out to be my friend, whom arrived earlier than I did.
Tegoshi: HAHAHAHA.

Are you the type who would arrive earlier than the agreed meeting time?”
Massu: I usually arrive just on time.
Tegoshi: It depends on who I’m meeting. I’ll typically predict what time the other party might be turning up and I’ll turn up accordingly. For instance, if the other party’s the type who would be 10, 20 minutes late, then I’ll also turn up late.
Massu: Then isn’t that the same as me?
Tegoshi: Come to think of it, it’s the same yeah? From the viewpoint of the other party, I’ll look like I’ve just arrived on time, won’t I?

“What do you spend your time while you’re waiting for someone else?”
Tegoshi: I’ll read a book or play games on my mobile phone.
Massu: That depends on how long I’ll have to wait. If it’s around 10 mins or so, I’ll probably pop into one of the nearby shops.
Tegoshi: What if it’s 30 mins?
Massu: Then I might go to shops that are little further away (from the meeting place).
Tegoshi: An hour?
Massu: I might have a meal or something! (laughs) An hour’s a little extreme, isn’t it? I might not even be at the agreed meeting point already.
Tegoshi: That’s true… Especially if you’re meeting up for meals, you’ll probably arrange to meet directly at the restaurant, so you might already be waiting inside. If it’s for 30 minutes, I’ll probably get a coffee and read while waiting for the other party. But if I have to wait for an hour, I’ll probably end up having my meal there too! (laughs)

“What would you say to your girlfriend who is late (for your date) by 30 minutes?”
Massu: If she’s late by 30 minutes because she has overslept, I’ll probably act a little surprised and say to her ‘since you’re late by 30 minutes, shouldn’t you turn up with an even cuter look?’
Tegoshi: Eh, what do you mean by that?
Massu: Well, I’m trying to say that she’d look great even if she had rushed to meet me. But if she had taken a further 30 minutes to properly doll herself up,  she would look even prettier!
Tegoshi: Ah I see…
Massu: Yeps, in perfect make up... And if it’s summer, I’ll probably say to her ‘I got all drenched in sweat while waiting for you’.
Tegoshi: But if you're feeling hot, you could just go into any shop! (laughs)
Massu: If the girl sees me all covered in perspiration while waiting quietly for her, she’ll probably think to herself ‘oh dear! I’ve made him perspire this much while waiting for me!’
Tegoshi: That’s a lot of pressure on her then!!
Massu: See? What would you say to the girl then?
Tegoshi: ‘For those minutes that you’ve kept me waiting, you can make it up to me by kisses later!
Massu: UWAH! (laughs)
Tegoshi: She’s my girlfriend, isn’t she? So that should be fine. It’s more like a ‘oh boy, it can’t be helped(since she’s my gf)’ situation rather than me trying to get her attention or pampering.  I might even chide her for being late!
Massu: I see. Well for me, I won’t get angry even if the other party’s late. I can’t get angry because I might be late too!
Tegoshi: HAHAHA.
Massu: I might get a text from her saying ‘I’m sorry,  I think I’ll be 30 mins late’, and I might reply her with the following – ‘I’m sorry too, I’m going to be 40 mins late!’
“If you’re the one who’s late, what would you say to your girlfriend then?”
Tegoshi: ‘I’m sorry that I’m late’ – an earnest apology is the best policy.
Massu: Hmm, I might think of an excuse, such as ‘the road was congested’…
Tegoshi: Even if she’s really mad at you?
Massu: Erm, no. I’ll apologise then.
Tegoshi: It’s okay to tell a white lie once in a while, like ‘I was delayed because of work’, since she won’t know it anyway.
Massu: Uwah….
Tegoshi: But obviously you’ve got to apologise and be sincere about it.
Massu: I might feel bad for being late and probably be depressed about it for the rest of the day. I’ll probably end up saying to her ‘I’ll go with anything you want to do today!’
Tegoshi: So when Massu’s late, it’s his girlfriend’s chance to get him to buy anything she wants! (laughs)
Massu: Yes, I won’t be able to say no. Probably…

“If you’re going on a date this summer, where would you go?”
Massu: Hanabi (fireworks) festival! Everyone’s gathered together to view fireworks in the night sky! You’ll see lots of people at the festival too.
Tegoshi: ‘see lots of people’? Even though you’re out on your own date?
Massu: Yeps, you can still be lovey dovey with people around.
Tegoshi: It’s going to be a seaside date for me! We’ll swim in the sea during the day, eat shaved ice, and play around with fireworks that I’ve brought along in the evening. ‘hyu hyu hyun’ (sound of fireworks going off)
Massu: Rocket fireworks? That’s dangerous!
Tegoshi: The firework will be set off towards the sky, and not towards the girl obviously…
Massu: Oh, as one normally does… (laughs)

“Tell me about an event that you’re waiting for these days?”
Tegoshi: The fireworks festival on 6 Aug! We appeared as ‘TegoMassu’ last year and it was extremely fun! There were couples, families and all sorts of people gathered together – one could sense the bliss and joy that was in the air.
Massu: That was really fun! We even wore yukata and Japanese clogs!
Tegoshi: It felt really nice to be able to sing in a wide, open space during summer evenings. Especially since we don’t get too many chances to sing in open venues.
Massu: And when Matchy san was on the stage, the sun was setting and the whole set up looked great too!
Tegoshi: It was a great performance because it was such a heartfelt one! I’d like to see that again! I’m really looking forward to the festival!
Massu: Then, is there anything else fun that you’re waiting for this summer?
Tegoshi: Every year, I’ll take a trip to somewhere that’s by the sea. Hence this year, I’d like to go somewhere too, like Shirahama?
Massu: That’s surprisingly near!
Tegoshi: If I have the time, I’ll go to Hawaii. It sounds cliché but I’d like to do summer-ish activities during summer, such as covering myself in tanning oil and sunbathe, playing beach soccer etc. Massu, is there anything that you’re waiting for at the moment?
Massu: For me, I’ve placed an order for some winter clothing in May, so I’m hoping the order will arrive earlier…
Tegoshi: EHHHHH??? Even though it’s only summer now…. (laughs)
